The Jerome Alexander award was established in 2025, to honor the memory of Jerome Alexander, a medical student from Mayaro, who tragically passed away. This award is presented to one medical student from each annual intake in recognition of outstanding achievements, and in honor of Jerome’s life. It serves as a lasting tribute to his contributions and spirit, celebrating those who exemplify the qualities he demonstrated in their academic or personal endeavors.

Yes. It is a mandatory requirement that all scholarship recipients submit an official transcript from their academic institution. If your academic institution provides a grade report, this is considered an interim document and does not replace the requirement for an official transcript. For example, all UTT students are required to submit an official transcript from UTT. All transcripts with GPA scores must be official — this is a mandatory requirement.

A letter of enrolment is requested and mandated for all continuing students to ensure accurate tracking of enrolment status and eligibility. All continuing students returning from a period of Leave of Absence are also mandated to submit a letter of enrolment. If for any reason, your academic plan changes during the term (e.g., return from Leave of Absence, programme transfer, deferral or withdrawal), you are required to inform the Brighter Prospects Team via email within 7 days. Failure to do so may affect your scholarship status and continued eligibility for funding consideration.
